"Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one."
Where do I begin? This session was so much fun and it was so amazing to discuss disease awareness with someone who is so strongly passionate about it.
Noelle has Chronic Lyme disease and is working extremely hard to bring awareness and change to the stigma around this disease. During our session we talked about her diagnosis and how alone she felt at the time. I admire her courage when she decided she wasn't going to let it get her down, and when she began posting photos and inspiration to share with other people who have Lyme disease.
These photographs are meant to help her raise awareness, as well as showcase her amazing strength while combating Chronic Lyme disease. (We also got to sneak in some pictures of her and her boyfriend Shaun!)
Please read Noelle's message below:
"Chronic Lyme disease is an invisible disease. Unfortunately with invisible disease's comes the stigma of "you don't look sick", or "you are faking it" I want to raise awareness for Chronic Lyme disease, be a part of making a change in the health care system so that people get properly diagnosed and get proper treatment for this disease, which can be terminal if not treated early enough.
Run for buddy is a 5KM run/walk that is taking place on May 7th, 2016 at 1:00PM in Orangville at the Island Lake conservation area. Myself and Shaun Booth would love for as many people to come show their support. Proceeds will go towards the run and funds for my Mom, who also has Lyme disease, and my treatment as it can get quite costly. Sign up at the link below and make sure to like our page on facebook. Lyme Disease messed with the wrong chick! "
